TRADITIONAL MEDICINE


TRADITIONAL MEDICINE
-Are derive from animal and plants
-Not chemically process

There are types of traditional medicine

plant:
  • Aloe vera (lidah buaya)
  • its leaf is used to produce juice and taken orally orrubbed on body
  • used to heal wound and skin disease
  • as a laxative
  • to treat diabetes, asthma, epilepsy, osteoarthritis and sunburn

    Gingseng
  • the root is dried and used to make tablets,capsules and powder
  • to boost the immune system
  • to improve the health of people recovering from illness
  • to lower the blood glucose and control the blood pressure

    Ginger (halia)
  • the stem (rhizome) is boiled with waterto produce juice for drinking
  • use to treat stomach ache, nausea, and diarrhoea
  • remove wind in the body
  • to prevent flu and keep body warm


  • Garlic (bawang putih)
  • garlic cloves can be eaten raw or cooked
  • treat high cholesterol , heart disease and high blood pressure
  • prevent stomach and colon cancer 


  • Green tea
  • the leaf is added into water and drink as a beverage
  • to prevent and treat breast, stomach and skin cancer
  • improve mental alertness
  • lower the cholesterol levels and
  • lower cholesterol level and protect skin from sun damage

  • Peppermint (pudina)
  • essential oil - taken in very small doses in capsule or liquid form
  • can be applied to skin
  • treat nausea, indigestion and cold symptoms
  • treat headache muscle and nerve pain






  • Centella asiatica (daun pegaga)
  • eaten raw or made into juice for drinking
  • help maintain youthfulness
  • relieve hypertension





-the traditional medicine works very slowly….
-can cause side effect
-if not selected properly it will make worsening or even result in death.
